Hypercholesterolemia Overview:

Hypercholesterolemia is a state of heightened cholesterol levels above normal range. High cholesterol levels have been repeatedly shown to contribute to a significantly higher risk of death due to cardiovascular disease.


Aetiology:

The causes for high cholesterol has been highly debated over the years, but there are currently several strong theories based on correlation studies, and known pathophysiology.
